Evolution Theatre Cabaret Series, “Broadway: Then & Now”

“Broadway: Then & Now” is the second exciting installment of Evolution Theatre Company’s new cabaret series at Lannie’s.

The show will be a musical journey through the history of Broadway, highlighting some of the most indelible songs ever written for the stage.  The audience will enjoy music from well-known Broadway blockbusters like the very first Tony-Award winning musical, “Kiss Me, Kate!” as well as from many of the celebrated popular musicals like, “West Side Story,” “Anything Goes,” “Godspell,” and more.

There will be exquisite solos sung including, “Send in the Clowns,” “Maria,” and “Don’t Rain on My Parade.”  The audience will also be treated to selections from the winner of 3 Tony Awards in 2009, “Next to Normal,” and from “Tick, Tick…Boom!” written by the Pulitzer prize winning composer of “Rent,” Jonathan Larson.  The cast will also present songs from “Memphis, The Musical,” a show so hot off the presses that the sheet music isn’t even available to the general public yet!  David Nehls’ entertaining show, “The Great American Trailer Park Musical” will also be highlighted.  And, to top off this wonderful evening of song, the talented cast will sing “NOW’ music from the Broadway stage, including several 2010 Tony Award contenders.

Join some of Denver’s top musical theatre performers as they serenade you through the best of Broadway…Then… and Now!   The six member cast includes:  Britta Laree, Beth Menke Miller, Kenny Moten, Rob Riney, Jaylyn Webb, and Jake Williamson.
