Blue Roots Denver is a Denver-produced program that will feature Colorado-based Blues and Jazz musicians captured in live performance. Directed by bandleader James Speiser (Roots & Rhythm Band) and broadcaster Erik Troe (Jazz89 KUVO/KVJZ-FM).

Here are just some of the unique and talented performers joining them tonight:
Lionel Young, the singing, fiddling two-time winner of the International Blues Challenge of Memphis, Venus Cruz, an incendiary, original Soul vocalist featured with the Future Jazz Project and the Greg Harris Vibe Quintet, and Danette Hollowell, the sweetest Jazz, Blues and Soul vocalist of the Old Souls.
These fine performers will be backed by five of Denver’s finest players:
Greg Tanner Harris, globetrotting bandleader and stellar Jazz vibraphonist and keyboardist, Gabriel Mervine, a fiery angel of the trumpet and flugelhorn, Mikey Smith, explosive genius of Old Souls, jazz and swing pianist and organist, John Paul Grigsby, virtuoso upright bassist, and the infamous Mark Emmons in the engine room on drums.
Other guests include (along with other special TO BE ANNOUNCED GUESTS):
DR. MALCOLM LYNN BAKER – tenor saxophone, is the Director of the Jazz Studies and Commercial Music Program at the Lamont School of Music, University of Denver.
TONY BLACK – drums, is the house drummer at the world famous Blues & Jazz club here in Denver, El Chapultapec.
MARK EMMONS – drums, is one of Denver’s best jazz and R&B drummers. Colorado born and raised, Mark performs with Laura Newman’s AOA (Alive on Arrival).
Proceeds will go to MusiCares Colorado Flood Relief Fund
MusiCares has established the MusiCares Colorado Flood Relief Fund to assist music people affected by the devastation of the Colorado floods. MusiCares’ initial assistance will provide funds for food and clothing, shelter, utilities, medical expenses, gasoline and transportation, cleanup efforts, relocation costs, instrument and recording equipment replacement, and other critical supplies. MusiCares understands the effects of this disaster in a unique way. Since their inception in 1989, it has been their mission to assist music industry people facing unexpected crises. We do not issue physical tickets. Once purchased, your name will be added to our reservations list, check in at our box office when you arrive.
NOTE: If you would like to be seated as a group/with friends, please include the first and last name of the agreed upon group name on the line provided: GROUP. Group seating is not guaranteed if requested within 3 hours of show-time. If a show is almost sold out, we cannot guarantee group seating. Purchase early if you can!

Most shows have assigned seating based on order of ticket purchase and party size, assigned front to back. The venue is intimate, no seats are far from the stage.
Once purchased, tickets are non-refundable/non-transferable to other shows/dates. (You can sell or give them to friends if you can’t make it.)
If you have special seating needs, (wheelchairs/elderly, etc) PLEASE let us know in advance.
We reserve the right to give up reserved seats after the show begins.
